English Crab Claws

Product Description

250g, ready-to-eat, pasteurised, frozen

A tasty and versatile ingredient, crab is low in fat and packed full of protein and vitamins. A firm favourite amongst crab lovers, crab claws are also considered the "fillet steak" of crabs. These English Devon crabs are caught by inshore fishermen using pots that are laid on the Atlantic sea bed in strings.

The Blue Sea Food Company is recognised by the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) and the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) as stewards in sustainable crab fishing.  They use the century-old method of crab pot fishing as it is considered the most sustainable and causes no damage to the marine environment. More importantly, crabs are still alive when brought to the surface, allowing fishermen to release crabs that are undersized, damaged or showing eggs back to the sea, allowing them to grow and breed.

Eat, as is, with some lemon mayonnaise, or run through linguini with some gently warmed olive oil, garlic and a sprinkling of chilli flakes.
