An out and out winner. A plush and savoury Waipara, New Zealand Pinot Noir that drinks well above its price point. 750ml
Dark plum in colour and ripe cherry in aromas. This wine is round and generous with medium tannins and well balanced acidity. Black pepper spices add to the complexity of this wine. The vines are chosen for their sweet and earthy qualities and planted at high density. The wine is aged in French oak barrels before being bottled. Catherine’s ideal food match for this wine is braised lamb shanks with caramelised onions.

We might have to move on soon as we have served this at so many dinner parties. Light and delicious, the price is excellent.
About the producer
Mount Brown Estates is a family owned vineyard in the heart of North Canterbury, New Zealand. Tony and Catherine, father and daughter, began their viticulture adventure in 2003 when they stumbled across an overgrown and abandoned vineyard. A couple of years and lots of weed pulling later they were able to start planting. In 2013, with the help of Frank, the resident winemaker, they built their own winery and bottling line. This means that all but the pinot noir only leave the farm once bottled and ready for sale!
