Ingredients (serves 3–4)
- 2 cups jasmine rice (soaked)
- 1.5 cups beef stock
- 350g beef sirloin
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp crushed black pepper (freshly cracked)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp dark soy
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Marinate beef with soy, oyster, dark soy, sugar, and black pepper for 20 mins.
- Start rice cooking in claypot.
- In a pan, sear beef quickly in butter with onions (high heat, 1 min only).
- When rice is 80% cooked, layer beef and onions on top.
- Cover and cook on low 5–7 mins.
- Let rest to allow juices to drip into the rice.
Finish: Extra freshly cracked black pepper, spring onions.
